POULTRY CLASS 32

OAS is subject to adhere to all provincial and federal directives with regards to communicable disease of all livestock and poultry which may result in the cancellation of shows on short notice.

Rules and Regulations:
1. Poultry must be enter on assistexpo.ca/oronofair by August 21, 2023 at 11:59pm.
2. Poultry must be at the poultry building no later than 9:30am on Saturday, September 9th, 2023. Exhibits may be brought in on Thursday, September 7th
between 6:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday, September 8th between 4:00pm to 6:00pm or Saturday, September 9th from 7am-9:30am.
3. Judging will commence at 10:00am SHARP on Saturday September 9th.
4. Poultry will remain on display until 6:00pm on Saturday, September 9th – no exceptions. Exhibitors may leave their birds on display until 4:00pm on Sunday, September 10th for display purposes.
5. If any poultry show signs of sickness, they will be removed from the exhibit by the Committee.
6. Entries are to be identified by section as follows: A – Cock, B – Hen, C – Cockerel, D – Pullet. Waterfowl: Two Sections: A – Old Male or B – Old
Female.
7. Entries are limited to two entries per section. Limit of 75
birds per exhibitor. This is subject to change at the discretion of the Poultry Committee.
8. All entries must be the property of the exhibitor.
9. Entries are limited to a total of 30 entries in the Geese section. These spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis to the maximum allowable in

Rule 6.
10. All waterfowl classes are limited to adult birds only.
11. The Poultry Show Committee will collect all eggs laid during the fair. No other person is permitted to remove eggs from cages.
12. All exhibitors must hold a 2023 membership in the Orono Agricultural Society, before his/her entry can be processed. Memberships are $10.00 payable by
cheque, made payable to the Orono Agricultural Society, and submitted along with your entry form.
13. In showing in A.C., A.O.C. and A.O.V. class, please state what colour and breed of your entry. If warranted, classes will be added. If you do not indicate the breed and colour in these classes, it will not be possible to have this done for judging. TERMS: A.C. – Any Colour, A.O.C. – Any Other Colour, A.O.V. – Any Other Variety, APA- American Poultry Association.
14. There must be two exhibitors and five birds to make a class; otherwise, it will be shown in A.O.C. class.
Prize Money per section win: 1st place – $5.00, 2nd place – $4.00, 3rd place- $3.00

2. An exhibitor may enter two birds in each section, 118- 129 inclusive. No hybrids.
3. All exhibitors must correctly identify the breed and colour of their exhibits on the entry form and where class numbers are required.
4. Juniors 17 and under.
5. Juniors must be in attendance when birds are cooped in.
6. Exhibitors 17 and under, may choose to enter Adult Section. If they do, then ALL of their entries will be judged in the adult section.
7. There is no entry fee for Junior Exhibitors.
