Who can be nominated as an OAS Honoree?

• Honorees are individuals recognized and awarded for their outstanding, long term contributions to Orono Agricultural Society.
• Persons who have distinguished themselves through exemplary service to the Orono Agricultural Society for a minimum of 10 years
• Persons who may/may not have served as a member of the Society, committee chair or director
• Persons who volunteer relentlessly

Process for Naming an OAS Honoree

• Anyone may nominate a person to be named an OAS Honoree by completing this nomination form above; click on the blue button above.
• Nominations can be received any time during the year
• Each November an Ad Hoc Honoree Committee (this year Bill Tomlinson, Tom Moffat, David Robinson and Mary Ann Found) will review all of the nominations received to that point, identify 3 – 5 nominees that the committee deems worthy and forward those names to the Board at their November meeting.
• The Board makes the final decision on whom will be recognized that year.
• The Board may also identify additional people should they choose.
• The Honorees will be named at the annual general meeting held in January.
• The Honorees will also be invited to attend the Opening of the Fair in the following September, where they will be publicly named and thanked.

2024 will be a catch up year!
