2026 EXHITBITOR SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE
Entries to be postmarked by Saturday, August 29th or emailed to [email protected] no later than midnight on August 31st. Electronic entry submission is available at www.assistexpo.ca/orono-fair. Online entries will shut down at midnight on August 31st, and late entries for most classes (excluding animals) will not be accepted. In-person drop off during fair week will not be accepted either, we kindly ask that you enter online, email or mail in your entries.
Our Office Administrator will be available in the portable building on the grounds from 10am – 2pm, Saturday, August 29th and Sunday, August 30 for last-minute drop-offs of paper copy entries.
MARKET GOAT SHOW CLASS 33

Rules and Regulations:
The market goat show is open to all breeds and crossbreeds of goats intended to represent the growing market for meat goats. The show will be judged on the quality of animals for breeding and replacement goats that are used to enhance the market animal. Animals entered for exhibition must be on the fairgrounds by 9am the day of the show and stay until 4pm. Animals will be subject to a health inspection prior to exhibiting.
All participants are required to complete an Orono Fair Exhibitor form prior to exhibiting. Exhibitors who do not fill out their forms will not be allowed to participate. There will be no exception for late entries.
Exhibitors are asked to wear a white shirt and dark pants (black or dark denim) and closed toe shoes/boots when participating in the classes.
A maximum of 3 goats per class can be entered per exhibitor.
Section A: Youth Open Showmanship
This class is open to children and youth. Participant’s age will be taken as the age they are at the time of the show. This show is open to goats of all ages which can be appropriately handled by the youth.
Children showing must be able to handle their goats independently in the show ring. An adult may supervise but should remain hands off in the ring as this class focuses on the snowperson’s ability to control their animal. Youth are expected to conduct themselves
in a safe and appropriate manner at the show.
Prize money: $30, $25, $20, $15, $10, $9, $8, $7, $6, $5
Ribbons will be awarded to 5 th place
a) Peewee (8 and under)
b) Novice (9-11yrs.)
c) Junior (12-14yrs.)
d) Intermediate (15-17yrs.)
e) Senior (18-21yrs.)
Championship: Grand and Reserve
Section B: Breeding Does and Doeling Class
This class is open to breeding quality goats (does and doelings)
Prize money: for each section $45, $40, $30, $18, $15, $12, $10, $8, $7, $5
Ribbons will be awarded to 5 th place.
a) Junior Replacement Breeding Doelings (0-6 months as of September 2026)
b) Senior Replacement Breeding Doelings (7-12 months as of September 2026)
c) Yearling Does (13 months to 23 months old as of September 2026)
d) Mature Does (2-3 years old as of September 2026)
e) Aged Does (3 years and older as of September 2026)
Championship: Grand and Reserve Champion
Section C: Market Goats
This class is open to male and female goats born between Jan 1 st to July 1 st 2026. This class will be judged on the goat’s appearance and quality
Championship: Grand and Reserve Champion
Grand and Reserve Champion for the best in show. The top 2 placements from each division will compete for the best in show.
Section D: Durham East 4H Club Achievement Day

This class is open to participants of the Durham East 4H Club. Please register in the following categories. All participants are required to complete an Orono Fair Exhibitor form prior to exhibiting. No late entries will be accepted. All participants will receive prize money donated by Epiphany Ponds & Landscaping.
